DRYDEN, Ont. -- A weekend traffic stop in Dryden resulted in multiple charges for three Winnipeg residents.

According to a release, Dryden Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on Saturday as a result of a violation of the Highway Traffic Act.

Upon investigation, officers had reason to believe the occupants were trafficking contraband tobacco.

Police searched the vehicle and found a large quanitity of contraband tobacco, with a street value of $255,000.

A 26-year-old male of Winnipeg, MB has been charged with adult trafficking in contraband tobacco; a 57-year-old male of Winnipeg, MB has been charged with adult trafficking in contraband tobacco and adult failure to comply with a release order, and a 20-year-old female of Winnipeg, MB was also charged with adult trafficking in contraband tobacco.

All accused were released on an undertaking and will appear in court in Dryden on June 29.
