THUNDER BAY – PRO Kids’ Training with a Pro is back for its fifth year, but this time, it will be delivered in a virtual format. The public is invited to exercise and train along with their professional hockey idols every Wednesday from July 22 to August 12, at 12 p.m.

Carter Hutton of the Buffalo Sabres, Olympic Champion Haley Irwin formerly of Team Canada and Amanda Makela of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) will be starring in their own 10-minute training video. The videos will be posted on the PRO Kids YouTube page.

Paul Hemsworth from Thrive Strength and Wellness has prepared workouts that are fun for everyone. Access to the training videos will be free, and organized by PRO Kids—a charity dedicated to making recreational activities accessible to local children and youth when their families cannot afford the fees.

“We felt, particularly during these times, that it is important for children and youth to be active,” said Laura Daniele, PRO Kids Coordinator. “Not only for their physical health, but for their mental health as well. What’s particularly great about Training with a Pro being virtual this year, is the whole family can participate.”

The City of Thunder Bay and PRO Kids recognize and thank Tbaytel for returning as the event’s presenting sponsor.
