THUNDER BAY -- Transit fees will be waived on Remembrance Day for veterans and their families.
Thunder Bay Transit services will be free this Sunday to veterans, their immediate families and families of deceased veterans to honour those who have died in the service.
“To show our respect and gratitude, Transit is making it easier for survivors and families to attend Remembrance Day events,” said Jon Hendel, planning and marketing analyst for Thunder Bay Transit, in a media release issued Wednesday.
Military members, cadets and other uniformed persons may also ride transit free of charge to attend Remembrance Day ceremonies by showing uniforms, medals, berets or blazers to the transit operators.
Buses will also stop at the nearest bust stop at 11 a.m. to recognize the two minutes of silence to honour fallen soldiers.
