A joint investigation is underway following the death of a float plane operator near Red Lake.
Red Lake OPP responded to a report of a male pilot being seriously injured while attempting to bring his amphibian plane onto the shoreline on Dee Dee Lake Thursday.
Police say the man had been standing outside of the plane on the floats as it approached the shoreline.
When the aircraft connected with the shore the man lost his balance and fell into the propeller causing significant injury.
James Kowalski, 67, of Saint Paul, Minnesota, has been identified as the deceased.
The Transport Safety Board of Canada are also investigating the incident.
