FORT FRANCES, Ont. – A Fort Frances man has been fined $2,500 for trapping violations.

Ralph Boettcher entered a guilty plea to a pair of counts of failing to comply with the conditions of his trapping licences.

According to court records, Boettcher maintained a trap line north of Fort Frances and during a conservation officers’ investigation, it was determined that in 2015 and 2016 he did not trap any fur-bearing animals, a condition of his trap line licence.

The case was heard in court on April 4.
