THUNDER BAY – The city’s Treasure Exchange Days event will take place on Sept. 7 and 8.
Residents with used items in good condition that they wish to give away may leave them on the curb any time after 5 p.m on Friday, Sept. 6, labelled “free.”
You can then tour Thunder Bay over the weekend to find treasures.
Treasure Exchange Days helps divert waste from the landfill, and gives a second life to good-condition used items, a city release said.
"The event is a great opportunity to exchange reusable household items, furniture, small appliances, toys, and more."
Post-secondary students coming or returning to Thunder Bay can take this opportunity to discover free items to furnish their dorms and residences.
All items not taken by treasure-hunters must be removed from the curb by 7 pm on Sunday, Sept. 8. The city’s solid waste and recycling services will not collect these items.
Treasure Exchange Days, which began in 2014, is an action item in the city’s Solid Waste Management Strategy.
