Truck slams into rock cut, three injured: OPP

(MARATHON, ON) – On August 2, 2016 at approximately 2:05 p.m. members of the Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision east of Marathon at Highway 17, Township of Bomby.

(MARATHON, ON) – On August 2, 2016 at approximately 2:05 p.m. members of the Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision east of Marathon at Highway 17, Township of Bomby.

A flatbed industrial truck travelling west bound left the roadway and entered the south side ditch striking a rock cut. 

Emergency services including the Marathon Fire Department and Superior North Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene to assist the three vehicle occupants. 

The 33 year old male driver of Sudbury, ON was transported by EMS to a medical facility for his injuries after being extricated from the vehicle.

The two passengers, a 31 year old male from Sudbury, ON and a 23 year old male of Chelmsford, ON were transported from the scene by EMS for injuries sustained in the collision.

Marathon OPP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
