THUNDER BAY — Liberal leader Justin Trudeau will take centre stage at a campaign rally in Thunder Bay Wednesday evening.

But local journalists will not receive an opportunity to pose questions to him about regional issues.

Trudeau will deliver a speech to supporters at the Lakehead University Outpost during an event that starts at 7:30 p.m.

No arrangements have been made for a media scrum in Thunder Bay.

A Liberal party spokesperson at national campaign headquarters said Trudeau's press conference for Wednesday, Sept. 25 was scheduled for Delta, British Columbia.

Matt Pascuzzo, a spokesperson for Thunder Bay-Superior North Liberal candidate Patty Hajdu, said "It's just that the type of event that we're having tonight is a rally with no media availability...Unfortunately there's no time built in for a full-on media availability this time around."

Tbnewswatch.com will provide coverage of this evening's rally.

Trudeau is the first party leader to visit Thunder Bay since the federal election campaign began.
