THUNDER BAY — If you want to improve your chances of avoiding a traffic collision in Thunder Bay, you might want to avoid driving on Tuesday afternoons.
Thunder Bay Police say their records show this was the worst time during the week for collisions in 2022.
Between January and September the most likely time for a collision to happen was Tuesday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Based on 2022 data, you could further mitigate the risk of being involved in an accident by avoiding certain intersections, especially along Memorial Avenue and Oliver Road.
The top intersections for collisions were:
- Memorial Ave. at Harbour Expressway (12)
- Memorial Avenue at Central Avenue (12)
- Oliver Road at High Street (10)
- Oliver Road at Golf Links Road (10)
- Oliver Road at Balmoral Street (9)
The data was released Tuesday at the Thunder Bay Police Services Board meeting.
