THUNDER BAY—The quantity and value of feature films and TV series being produced in northwestern Ontario pales in comparison with the amount of work in the northeastern part of the province.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is currently supporting no fewer than three TV series and six feature films under production in the northeast, mostly in the Sudbury area.

The total value of the recent Heritage Fund investments in that region is almost $12 million.

In the Thunder Bay area, NOHFC's recent announcement of funded projects includes no TV series but three feature films with a total investment of about $1.5 million. The fund is also providing about $90,000 to three other film productions, including two in Thunder Bay and one in Sioux Lookout.
