THUNDER BAY – A pair of suspects are in custody after three males allegedly forced themselves into a Cameron Street apartment.

In a release issued on Monday, Thunder Bay Police say the suspects on Sunday night about about 8:45 p.m. forced 27-year-old and 34-year-old males into the bathroom of the apartment, where they were threatened.

After the suspects left the apartment, the victims discovered a number of items had been taken, including a television, cell phone, wireless phone and a wallet.

The suspects were last seen heading toward May Street and police say they located a vehicle matching that of the suspects on South Brodie Street.

Two occupants were inside the vehicle at the time police stopped it on East Arthur Street for having an expired plate.

During the stop officers noticed some of the reported stolen items at the feet of the passenger and the two men were arrested for possession of stolen property.

A further search revealed a box cutter in the right front pocket of the passenger, blade extended. Another knife, housed in a sheath, was found in the front console.

Police immediately seized the vehicle for further examination.

Justin Matthew Collins, 30, was charged with possession of stolen property, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon.

He was remanded into custody.

The other male, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, will face charges of possession of a dangerous weapon, uttering threats, robbery, possession of stolen property and forcible confinement when he appears in court on Tuesday.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.

The investigation is ongoing.
