Two charged for trafficking cocaine

MARATHON, Ont. -- OPP arrest and charged two individuals following a motor vehicle collision early Monday morning.

According to a release, Ontario Provincial police responded to a motor vehicle colllision around 3:12 a.m. on Highway 17 near Angler Creek of Marathon, Ont.

While conducting an invesitgation, officers were notified about a possible prohibited weapon and a further search of the vehicle was conducted.

Police located a large quantity of suspected cocaine, approximately three kilograms.

As a result, police charged a 22-year-old from North York and a 56-year-old from Thunder Bay with possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine - for the purpose of trafficking.
 
Both were held for a video bail hearing in Marathon on Monday. They were transfered to the Thunder Bay District Jail to await further bail hearings regarding the charges.
