Two charged in Sioux Lookout drug raid

Police say cocaine and suboxone found during hotel raid in Northwestern Ontario community.

SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. – A pair of people have been arrested and face drug trafficking charges after police raided a Sioux Lookout hotel on Canada Day.

OPP, in release issued on Friday, said they executed a warrant and netted $2,119 in cash and drug-related paraphernalia. They also found 43 grams of suspected cocaine and eight milligrams of suboxone.

A 42-year-old man from Dryden and a 32-year-old woman from Thunder Bay were charged with possession of cocaine and suboxone for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Both are expected in court in Sioux Lookout on Sept. 8.
