Two charged with impaired driving in Kenora

Kenora OPP have charged two men with impaired driving offences in separate incidents last weekend.

KENORA, Ont. - Two men have been charged with impaired driving offences in two separate incidents last weekend in Kenora.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Kenora detachment were patrolling Darlington Drive on Saturday, Apr. 15. At approximately 9 p.m. officers conducted a vehicle stop for a highway traffic act offence.

Officers determined the driver had been consuming alcohol and he was arrested on the scene.

A 52-year-old Kenora man was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in blood.

In a separate incident, Kenora OPP officers received a complaint of a possible impaired driver in downtown Kenora on Friday, Apr. 14.

Police located the vehicle parked on Bernier Drive. The driver was arrested after officers determined he had been consuming alcohol.

A 52-year-old Fort Frances Man was arrested and charged with fail or refuse to provide a sample.

He will appear in court on May 25, 2017.
