THUNDER BAY – Two people associated with École Gron Morgan Public School in Thunder Bay have tested positive for COVID-19, the Lakehead District School Board reported Sunday evening.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is identifying anyone considered a contact of those two people, using updated public health guidance, the board said in a release.

Guardians of students in impacted classes or cohorts will be contacted directly by public health and provided further instructions, along with impacted teachers and other staff.

“Anyone else in the school setting who is not specifically contacted by public health would not be considered at elevated risk because of this situation at this time,” the board stated.

More information on COVID-19 guidance regarding schools can be found at the health unit’s website.
