Two forest fires not yet under control in Northwest Region

THUNDER BAY – Two new forest fires have been confirmed in the Northwest Region, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. Nipigon District Fire 032, a 0.1-hectare blaze near Purdom Lake, is not under control.

THUNDER  BAY – Two new forest fires have been confirmed in the Northwest Region, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

Nipigon District Fire 032, a 0.1-hectare blaze near Purdom Lake, is not under control. A fire, twice that size near Mink Lake in the Fort Frances District, is also not under control.

The MNRF says the fire hazard is moderate to high in the western portions of the region, and high with pockets of extreme in the eastern portion of the region.
