A pair of public meetings are planned for Wednesday to discuss the major upgrading of Golf Links Road and Junot Avenue.
Work to expand the busy route to four lanes is expected to start next year. One business that has been closely consulted during the planning process is the Thunder Bay Country Club. The century-old golf course runs adjacent to where the construction will happen. Country Club
President John Atwood said at most, the course will lose only a small amount of their property at the corner of Golf Links and Oliver Road. He said the biggest change for them will be putting nets along Golf Links to prevent balls from flying into traffic.
City engineering officials are holding two public meetings tomorrow at the Oliver Road Community Centre at 3 and 7 p.m.
