(NORTH CARIBOU LAKE, ON) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Northwest Patrol Unit, along with the Northwest Region Crime Unit, have arrested two residents of North Caribou Lake following an altercation.
During the morning of November 1, 2015, officers working in the community responded to a report of an assault at one of the residences. The investigation revealed that a community member had been stabbed, and as a result of injuries sustained, was airlifted out of the community for medical treatment.
As a result of this incident, a 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both of North Caribou Lake First Nation, have been charged with assault with a weapon, contrary to the Criminal Code.
Both accused are remain in custody at this time and will be appearing in court in Dryden on November 4, 2015.
