THUNDER BAY -- Two men are facing charges following a drug bust Thursday at a hotel on Memorial Avenue.
An investigation began in September by the Intelligence Unit regarding the distribution of cocaine at the Royalton hotel on Bay Street.
As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was conducted in November on a storage locker at a self-storage business in town.
Officers located prescription pills, marijuana, crack cocaine and cash.
The finding led to several search warrants being executed and the arrest of 36-year-old Dwayne Brown of Waterloo, Ontario in a hotel room at the Econo Lodge Hotel.
The search of the hotel room, rental car and storage locker resulted in the seizure of more than $50,000 in drugs and more than $4,000 in cash.
The 36-year-old was charged with trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
Officers also met 27-year-old Navado Frazer of Toronto, Ontario at the airport. A search of this man resulted in the seizure of cocaine valued at more than $90,000.
He has been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and identity fraud.
Both men appeared in court and were remanded into custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
