UPDATED: Two new COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay area

The active caseload has fallen by 10 since Sunday.

THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported two new COVID-19 cases on Monday.

Both are in the City of Thunder Bay or immediate surrounding area.

One is the result of close contact, but no known exposure source has been identified for the other case.

Both individuals are currently self-isolating.

Three COVID-19 patients remain in hospital, including one in the intensive care unit.

There are now 110 active COVID-19 cases in the TBDHU's catchment area, 10 fewer than Sunday.

A total of 12 cases were resolved between Sunday and Monday, bringing the number of resolved cases since the start of the outbreak to 261.

To date, five individuals have died from the virus.
