THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported two new COVID-19 cases Wednesday.

Both patients contracted the virus after traveling outside Northwestern Ontario.

Both are residents of the City of Thunder Bay or nearby townships.

The active case count in the district now stands at five.

TBDHU said data quality checks resulted in the removal of one case previously designated as a district resident.

No district resident is currently receiving treatment in hospital for COVID-19.
