Two Ottawa men face drug and theft charges

Two men from Ottawa are facing numerous drug- and theft-related charges after an arrest made involving a stolen vehicle.

THUNDER BAY - Two Ottawa area men are facing numerous drug and theft charges following an arrest on the city’s north side.

According to a Thunder Bay Police Service media release, patrol officers located a black Ford F150 at an Egan Place address before 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officers were informed that the vehicle was stolen from a local rental car company and two males were arrested.

During a search on the scene, police found pieces of jewelry with tags still attached, large sums of cash, pills and marijuana, and a knife.

A 22-year-old man from Ottawa has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and breach of probation.

A 20-year-old Ottawa man was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Both men appeared in court Wednesday morning and have been remanded into custody.
