MARTEN FALLS FIRST NATION, Ont. — Two residents of Marten Falls First Nation have been arrested after a drug investigation in the community 430 kilometres north of Thunder Bay.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service drug enforcement unit, accompanied by officers from the NAPS Marten Falls detachment, made the arrests Tuesday.
They seized a quantity of methamphetamines along with a firearm.
A 41-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The male accused was also charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
Both were released from custody on conditions pending a court appearance in June.
