DRYDEN, Ont. — Police in Dryden arrested a man and a woman from Kenora after a serious assault over the holiday weekend.

Police say the incident remains under investigation, but they believe the attack was gang-related.

Officers were called to an apartment Sunday evening, where they found a 47-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his upper body and blunt trauma injuries to his head and torso.

The victim was taken to Dryden hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to a news release, police were told several individuals had entered the apartment uninvited and commenced to assault the man.

The perpetrators fled the scene but two suspects were arrested in north Dryden a short time later.

A 31-year-old man is charged with assault with a weapon, break and enter, two counts of breach of recognizance, and breach of probation.

A 24-year-old woman is charged with assault with a weapon and break and enter.

Police said a third subject, who is also from Kenora, remains at large but a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
