THUNDER BAY — One unit sustained heavy smoke and heat damage after fire broke out Monday morning in an apartment building in the 600 block of North McKellar Street.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue said two people suffered minor smoke inhalation but were treated by paramedics at the scene.
The alarm came in just after 10:30.
After firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming out of a side door and window, the incident commander requested additional resources.
A search of the building revealed what a fire department news release described as a "contents fire" but details were not provided.
The cause of the blaze was not disclosed, however it was deemed to be accidental.
Six pumpers, a command unit and an aerial ladder responded to the incident.
