A federal government investment will improve runways at a pair of remote northern airports in this area.
MP Greg Rickford (Con. Kenora) made the $3-million announcement on behalf of Transport Minister John Baird Wednesday.
The airport in Webequie will receive $1.9 million worth of crushed gravel to bring its runway surface up to certification standards.
The airport in Landsdowne House is getting $1.3 million for similar upgrades.
