Two sent to hospital after Grenville Avenue assault

Male suspect has been arrested and charged with multiple counts, including assault with a weapon.

THUNDER BAY – An early morning assault landed two people in hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Police, in a release, said a 22-year-old female and a 23-year-old male were involved in an altercation at an apartment in the 200 block of Grenville Avenue at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday. 

The female has since been released from hospital, but the 23-year-old male remains at Thunder Bay Regional and has been charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000 and breach of an undertaking.

Police remain on scene and the criminal investigations unit continues to look into the incident.
