Two suspects wanted for robbery and assault

Police investigating after a cab driver was assaulted during a robbery on McKenzie Street early Tuesday morning.

THUNDER BAY - Police are looking for two suspects wanted in connection to an assault and robbery of a cab driver early Tuesday morning.

According to a Thunder Bay Police Service media release, officers were called to an incident on McKenzie Street between Pruden and Finlayson Street just after 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police said a cab driver picked up two males near the corner of Brodie Street and Miles Street who asked to be taken to Rowand Street.

The driver was then assaulted between Prudent and Finlayson Street and both suspects fled on foot down McKenzie Street heading east with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The cab driver was transported to hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The first suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his late 20s standing approximately six feet, one inches tall. He had short hair and was wearing a dark ball cap and dark coat.

The second suspects is described as a Caucasian male in his late 20s standing approximately six feet tall. He was wearing a white hoodie or sweater.
