SEATTLE – Matt Murray is heading west.

The two-time Stanley Cup-winning goaltender, who played two games this past season with the Toronto Maple Leafs after battling back from injury, has signed a one-year, $1-million deal with the Seattle Kraken.

The 31-year-old was stellar in the American Hockey League last season, going 10-5-4 in 21 games, with a 1.72 goals against average and a .934 save percentage.

He won back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 2016 and 2017  with Pittsburgh, who drafted him 83rd overall in 2012.

Murray is 147-87-24 in 275 career NHL games and will join a familiar face in Seattle, who recently hired Thunder Bay’s Colin Zulianello as the team’s goaltending coach.

Murray will likely slot in behind Joey Daccord and Philipp Grubauer on the Kraken depth chart.
