THUNDER BAY – One woman was sent to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle collision.

Thunder Bay Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the corner of May and Arthur streets just before 4 p.m.

A grey car travelling eastbound on Arthur Street entered the intersection at May Street on a green light when a silver car was proceeding northbound on May Street and failed to stop for the red light.

The two vehicles collided,  one vehicle narrowly missing crashing through the main doors of an apartment building.

Both vehicles sustained major damage, which required them to be towed from the scene.

The driver of the silver car was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre by ambulance as a precaution and she was later charged with failing to stop at a red light.
