The United Way of Thunder Bay managed to collect nearly $150,000 from its annual high-rise fundraising event.
Officials with the United Way announced Friday that the organization raised about $146,000
from its annual Billboard Rescue campaign.
Thirty-four teams participated in the event that saw volunteers lifted above Balmoral Street in a scissor lift. From there, volunteers made phone calls to collect pledges for the organization.
Last year the event raised about $130,000.
