THUNDER BAY – The executive director of the United Way of Thunder Bay is stepping down.

The United Way of Thunder Bay announced Friday that executive director Jered Zieroth, who has supported and worked directly with the United Way for 12 years, will be departing at the end of July.

According to a United Way release, Zieroth says the two things Jered is most proud of during his time are seeing the establishment of the 211 Community Information and Referral system for Northern Ontario, and his work with the United Way Leaders of the Way who have raised more than $6.5 million in support of much needed local community programs and initiatives.

“Being part of the United Way family has been a tremendous privilege,” Zieroth said in a statement.

“I have grown immensely as a person and I am grateful to have worked with such amazing community members who want to see our most vulnerable citizens cared for. “

Zieroth will be taking on a role as general manager at Til-Ka Construction.
