The number of Thunder Bay citizens using food banks has risen drastically in recent years.

Now, a group of Lakehead University students is doing what it can to help meet the increasing demand.

Members of Lakehead's Students In Free Enterprise Team have enlisted the help of Saint John's Ambulance and Quality Market for their Let's Can Hunger Challange, sponsored by Campbell's Soup.

The team is hoping to fill at least one Saint John's Ambulance full of non-perishable food to be donated to the Regional Food Distribution Association. Project Leader Allison O'Shea said Quality Market shoppers have been extremely generous.

All the food collected will stay in the region distributed amongst the food banks serviced by the RFDA.
