ATIKOKAN, Ont. – A package with an unknown white substance caused the closure of a post office in Atikokan last week.

According to a police release, Rainy River OPP were called to the Canada Post office in Atikokan on Wednesday, Nov. 13 around 11 a.m.

Employees at the post office located an unknown white substance that they deemed as suspicious.

The post office and surrounding area were evacuated as a precaution.

This is done for the protection of the public and is only done if it is deemed necessary.
