UPATE: Teen taken to hospital after crashing into hydro pole Thursday night

THUNDER BAY - An 18-year-old man had to be extricated from his pickup truck after crashing into a hydro pole on Golf Links Road Thursday night.

THUNDER BAY - An 18-year-old man had to be extricated from his pickup truck after crashing into a hydro pole on Golf Links Road Thursday night.

Police, paramedics and firefighters all responded to the corner of Golf Links Road and Fairbank Crescent at about 10 p.m., the Thunder Bay Police Service said in a media release issued Friday afternoon.

The truck, was travelling southbound before spinning into a "rotational fashion" until it hit the pole on the west boulevard.

The driver, from Atikokan but attending school in Thunder Bay, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation continues and charges are pending.
