UPDATE: Accused arrested, victim identified in Wednesday homicide

City police have arrested and charged a 40-year-old man following a homicide.

The Thunder Bay Police Service has arrested and charged a 40-year-old Thunder Bay man with second degree murder. 

Officers were originally dispatched to a residential address in the 300 block of Arundel Street just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13 following reports of a death. 

Paramedics with Superior North EMS and Firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue were also dispatched to the scene. First responders attempted to resuscitate a male victim. 

Investigators with the Major Crimes Unit confirmed the nature of the death was consistent with a homicide. 

The victim has been identified as Nazareth Andrew KWANDIBENS, 41, of Thunder Bay. 

The accused is scheduled to appear in bail court Thursday, Nov. 14. 

Police continue to hold the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
