THUNDER BAY – Despite prices holding steady amid a province-wide rise, the per-litre cost of gas appears to be spiking at stations across the city.
As of Friday morning the price of gas held steady at about $1.16-a-litre. This steady pricing came despite a trending rise across Ontario, which listed the average price at $1.06-a-litre for regular gasoline.
However, as of Friday afternoon, online gas price watchdog ontariogasprices.com began reporting jumping prices in Thunder Bay.
Now at least half-a-dozen local gas bars are listing prices above $1.25, with others expected to follow suit shortly.
The lowest reported price remains at $1.089-per-litre.
At neighbouring Fort William First Nations the cheapest fuel price reported remains at $1.049.
