MARATHON, Ont. - The TransCanada Highway has reopened, hours after a plow truck hit the Pic River Bridge.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon and while an OPP official said the truck does not seem to be damaged, Highway 17 was closed while the Ministry of Transportation sends a crew to inspect the integrity of the bridge.
The bridge is located about eight kilometres east of Marathon.
The MTO crew is based out of Thunder Bay so the OPP expected the highway to be closed into the evening.
The highway was also previously closed on Dec. 18 after a truck struck the bridge and became stuck.
Nobody was injured as a result.
