THUNDER BAY -- City police have completed the search for a person that had fallen through the ice on Tuesday afternoon on the McIntyre Floodway
In a release issued Wednesday, police say they were contacted Tuesday evening by a witness who saw an individual fall through the thinning ice.
The witness went down to the river with a rope to assist the individual but saw she was already out and leaving the area with another person.
Police want to remind the community to stay off the ice as it is very volatile and unpredictable with the increasingly warm weather.
