UPDATE: Police identify victims of fatal highway crash

Police have now identified all the victims involved in a weekend crash on Highway 17. OPP officers responded to reports of a major crash on Saturday, Oct. 19, on Highway 17, about 15 kilometres east of English River.

OPP officers responded to reports of a major crash on Saturday, Oct. 19, on Highway 17, about 15 kilometres east of English River.

When officers arrived on scene they determined that a pickup truck had been heading westbound on the highway and collided with a transport truck heading eastbound.

Five men were killed as a result of that crash.

The driver of the tractor trailer unit has been identified as Sukhwinder S. Thandi, 43, of Cambridge, Ont.

With the assistance of the Regional Coroners Office, the four deceased men who were in the pickup truck have now been identified as Brady Ostell, 26, of Kitchener, his brother Andrew Ostell, 27, of Kitchener, Kyle Prince, 42, of Waterloo, and James Jackson, 44, of Fort Erie.
