THUNDER BAY - A 21-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a weapons incident on George Street.

In a release issued on Thursday afternoon, Thunder Bay Police say the man, who cannot be named until he appears in court to face charges, was taken into custody without incident just after 2 p.m.

The suspect is expected to appear in court on Friday, when he'll be charged with aggravated assault. He'll remain in custody until a show-cause bail hearing takes place on Friday.

In the initial release earlier on Thursday, police say they responded to a weapons call in the 400 block of George Street near Shelter House on 4 a.m. on Wednesday. A male victim, who also has not been identified, was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries and later released.

A second suspect, Cara-Dawn Cormier, was earlier arrested and appeared in video court, where she was charged with aggravated assault. Cormier remains behind bar awaiting her next court appearance.

The investigation continues.
