THUNDER BAY -- A three-vehicle collision led to the closure of the Harbour Expressway for several hours late Thursday afternoon.
The collision happened just before 5 p.m. on the roadway between Golf Links Road and the Thunder Bay Expressway.
Police say a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound on the Harbour Expressway and rear-ended a Pontiac car, which was waiting to turn south onto Highway 61.
The force of the initial collision caused the pickup truck to veer into the oncoming eastbound lanes of the Harbour Expressway colliding with an eastbound Dodge pickup truck head on.
The collision resulted in non-life threatening injuries.
This investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
Police are reminding motorists that traffic volumes are expected to increase, higher than normal, Friday afternoon due to the long weekend.
