An American businessman has been fined $2,000 for failing to remit money owed to the Crown from selling hunting and fishing licences. Ely, Minn.

An American businessman has been fined $2,000 for failing to remit money owed to the Crown from selling hunting and fishing licences.

Ely, Minn.’s Mark Zupancich pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place in 2001 at Lac La Croix’s Zup’s Fishing Resort and Canoe Outfitters, says a release put out Wednesday by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Zupanich repaid the $13,835.47, the full amount owing, prior to his court appearance.

The case was heard late last month in Atikokan.
