U.S. resident charged after cocaine seizure at Fort Frances border crossing

A resident of New London, Wisconsin faces half a dozen charges.

FORT FRANCES, ON — A man from Wisconsin will appear in court next month for allegedly bringing cocaine and crack cocaine into Canada.

The Canada Border Services Agency contacted Ontario Provincial Police after finding the drugs in the possession of the 23-year-old American at the Fort Frances Port of Entry on the weekend.

The man was charged with importing and possessing a prohibited drug and with possession for the purpose of traffickng. 

In total, he faces six charges.

The man was released on a recognizance pending his court date.

OPP did not disclose the quantity or value of the seized drugs.
