THUNDER BAY – Eric Vanska doesn’t let a lot of pucks get by him.

On Friday night, he was picture perfect, stopping all 34 shots he faced to earn his league-leading fifth shutout of the SIJHL season, leading the Kam River Fighting Walleye to a 2-0 win on the road over the expansion Sioux Lookout Bombers.

Ethan Lang had a goal and an assist for the Fighting Walleye (37-8-1), who maintained an eight-point lead over second-place Dryden Ice Dogs (33-14-1), who blanked the Wisconsin Lumberjacks 4-0 on Friday night.

Kobe Braham was credited with the game-winner, beating Jake Manners five minutes into the contest. Manners made 45 saves in a losing effort, the third-place Bombers missing a chance to put some more room between them and fourth-place Thunder Bay, who play a matinee affair on Saturday against the Fort Frances Lakers.
