Vehicle catches fire at Home Depot

Firefighters quickly put out small parking lot blaze.

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue battled wet weather on Thursday afternoon to snuff out a vehicle fire in the parking lot adjacent to the city’s Home Depot outlet.

Crews pried open the hood to get at the blaze, which was belching smoke out of the front of the silver sedan.

At the same time, several police cruisers were buzzing around the area, focusing on the Main Street bridge, where it appeared they led a person off in handcuffs.

It’s unclear whether or not the two incidents are related.
