Vehicle hits train, driver receives impaired charge

THUNDER BAY – A collision with a train late last month has netted a Kenora man an impaired driving charge.

Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Thursday, say the incident occurred on March 30 on Highway 671.

OPP, Treaty Three Police and Kenora Ambulance each attended the scene and were able to remove the 61-year-old occupant from his vehicle and taken him to hospital for treatments.

The suspect was charged with driving while ability impaired, failing to or refusing to provide a breath sample and failure to comply with an undertaking.

He’s expected in court in Kenora on April 26.
