Vehicle in the ditch leads to impaired driving charges for Kenora area man

(KENORA, ON) Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD) and the Kenora Detachment of the OPP have charged a 58 year old man for impaired driving. 

Shortly after 11:30 am on Saturday January 9, 2016 police received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on the Olson Rd east of Highway 596. Police attended and determined the driver had been consuming alcohol.  He was transported for further tests.

As a result of this investigation, a Kirkup Township man has been charged with Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) and Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle With More than .80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood, section 253(1)(b).  He is to appear in Kenora Court on February 18, 2016 to answer to the charges.
