Police officers in Kenora stumbled upon nearly 12 pounds of marijuana after stopping a vehicle shortly after midnight Monday.
Officials with the Kenora detachment of the OPP say officers stopped the vehicle on Highway 17a. Police discovered that the two occupants of the vehicle were in possession of marijuana.
After arresting the two men, police searched the vehicle and located the 12 pounds of marijuana.
As a result of the search, police say Dylan Pattison, 20, and Jason Thomson, 26, both of Fort Frances, have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The suspects are expected to appear in a Kenora courtroom on Dec. 5, 2013 to answer to the charge.
The street value of the drugs seized is estimated to be nearly $36,000.
