THUNDER BAY — A city man faces a drug charge after police conducted a traffic stop Thursday morning.
According to an afternoon Thunder Bay Police Service news release, an officer with the Primary Response Unit was on general patrol when he observed a vehicle being driven with a tarp obstructing the rear window, and a broken tail light.
The officer pulled the vehicle over in the 1000 block of Memorial Avenue at about 1:30 a.m.
Further investigation revealed the driver had a suspended licence.
Police also found what they described as a significant quantity of cocaine, as well as paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
The 42-year-old was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and with failure to comply with a probation order.
He appeared in court and was remanded into custody for his next court date.
